🌸 Raising Whole Humans vs. “Good” Kids 🌸
(A love note to the wild ones and the ones raising them)
Let’s talk about this word:
“Good.”
It’s been showing up a lot lately…
in praise, in fear, in generational echoes.
“Be a good girl.”
“Act like a good boy.”
“That’s not what good kids do.”
But here’s the spell we’re breaking—
“Good” is often just a code word for “compliant.”
Quiet. Polite. Obedient. Predictable. Palatable.
But what if your child’s fullness isn’t meant to be palatable?
What if their wildness is sacred?
Their fire is true?
Their boundaries are brilliant?
I’m not raising a “good” kid.
I’m raising a whole human.
Whole humans cry when they’re sad.
Say no when they mean no.
Explore when they’re curious.
Get loud when they’re passionate.
And mess up—because that’s how we learn.
I don’t want my child to shrink themselves to earn approval.
I want them to trust their yes and their no.
To speak with truth, move with joy, and live with aliveness.
Because a world full of “good kids” might be tidy…
But a world full of whole humans?
That’s where the healing begins.
