🌿 Legacy of Love No. 3: Ai-jen Poo

Because the future must be built on care.

Ai-jen Poo is a quiet, but compassionate revolutionary voice—an organizer, advocate, and visionary who has spent decades uplifting the workers too often forgotten: the caregivers, nannies, housekeepers, and home care providers who hold our world together.

As the President of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Executive Director of Caring Across Generations, Ai-jen has fought to bring legal protection, visibility, and dignity to a workforce made up largely of immigrant women and women of color. The work she does isn’t glamorous—it is foundational. It is life-giving. It is love in action.

She helped create and pass the first-ever Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, making care work visible in the eyes of the law. She continues to speak, write, organize, and build coalitions across movements—because she knows what so many of us have always felt deep in our bones:

Care is infrastructure.

Love is foundational.

And dignity should never be optional.

As a mother of four and a woman whose life is rooted in sacred care—of bodies, of families, of community—I feel the resonance of Ai-jen’s work.

She reminds me that softness is not weakness.

That caregiving is fuel for a revolution.

That choosing tenderness in a world obsessed with power is a form of resistance.

Ai-jen doesn’t just lead movements—she mothers them.

She makes it possible for people like me to do this work and know we are not alone.

Thank you, Ai-jen.

For every policy changed.

For every caregiver held.

For every ripple of quiet, radical love.

You are a true Legacy of Love.
