A Recognition of Impact: Pope Francis

While the Catholic Church holds a long and complex history, today we pause not for legacy—but for impact.

Pope Francis has stood as a global voice willing to speak what so many with power will not:

That immigrants deserve dignity, not dehumanization.

That our Earth is not disposable, and neither are the lives most affected by its destruction.

That silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality—it is complicity.

In a world where so many leaders dodge accountability, his voice—steady, humble, and unwavering—has reminded the global stage that compassion must be louder than cruelty, and that truth must rise above fear-based narratives.

We thank him for his courage to call out systems of oppression, for speaking to the sacredness of care, and for using his platform not to uphold power, but to challenge it.

Because when those with global reach choose to speak for the voiceless—when they name injustice without flinching—they shift the tides.

We need more of that.

More courage. More truth. More radical compassion.

Thank you, Pope Francis, for speaking when it matters most.

Rest in peace.
