🌼 Mothering the Movement Isn’t a Vibe—It’s a Vow 🌼

Embodiment has been so thoroughly commodified that people have begun to confuse it with aesthetics.

But embodiment is not a vibe—it’s a vow.

It is not found in curated Instagram grids.

It is not found in expensive retreats, brand deals, or a perfectly-filtered meditation selfie.

Embodiment is what you root into when no one is watching.

It’s what carries you through when the mission is bigger than your mood.

It’s the quiet promise to keep showing up—messy, magnificent, and raw.

The mothers of movements before us didn’t ask,

“Am I regulated enough to speak out?”

They asked,

“Who needs me?”

They braided babies’ hair and marched to the front lines.

They harvested food and wrote policy.

They held grief in one hand and change in the other.

They didn’t have fancy branding.

They had conviction.

And that was more than enough.

We live in a culture that tells us to only share when it earns.

Only show up when it converts.

Only speak when it sells.

But here’s the truth:

🪻 If your mission is only accessible to the wealthy…

🪻 If you only show up when it grows your platform…

🪻 If you’re more focused on your aesthetic than your impact…

That’s not embodiment.

That’s performance.

Embodiment doesn’t show up for applause. It shows up to serve.

It says:

“I choose to do ___ because I believe it matters—even if no one ever sees it.”

We must begin to uncouple worth from wealth.

Service from spotlight.

Devotion from downloads.

Because the most powerful acts often happen behind closed doors.

Not for sale. Not for show. Just because they need to happen.

Ask yourself:

What message is wrestling to break free from you?

What truth won’t leave you alone?

What offering lives in your bones?

Can you imagine creating something that isn’t a lead magnet?

A free offering—not because it earns you trust—but because it matters to your spirit?

Can you give, even once, without needing to tell a soul?

That is devotion.

That is where the movement lives.

I share these words not to scold—but to remind.

We are all needed.

Not as performers.

Not as perfect people.

But as truth-bearers.

Builders.

Tenders of community.

You may want a living wage for your work—and you deserve it.

But let us not forget:

True embodiment is not measured by money, followers, or praise.

It is felt in the body.

It is answered in the soul.

It rises quietly and powerfully—when the mission is alive inside you.

So yes, we rest.

We nourish.

We recharge.

But we also serve.

We sacrifice.

We show up—again and again.

Not for me. For the we.

It looks like:

🌸 Unwashed hair

🌸 Crying in the car between drop-offs

🌸 Staying up late printing flyers

🌸 Missing out on the cool event so you can go to the local town hall

🌸 Saying “no” to a brand deal so you can say “yes” to your people

That’s not a failure of embodiment.

That is embodiment.

You do not have to be perfect to be impactful.

You do not have to be tidy to be trusted.

You do not have to be fit to be sacred.

You just have to be true.

To your people.

To your mission.

To the fire in your chest that refuses to burn out.

We’re not building this for validation.

We’re building this for liberation.

And we’re doing it together—just as we are.
